Our elderly cousin, in her 90s, was in some pretty dire straits (living situation, poor health, scattered financial situation, and so much more), and we were her Powers of Attorney. My mom and I live in different states, and our cousin lives in a third state. So, this situation would have been complicated anyway, even if we lived in our cousin's town or state. We don't. Each of us is three hours away from her, and four hours away from each other! Geographically complicated to say the least. So, we needed to do almost EVERYTHING via email, phone calls, texts, and the U.S. Postal Service.
When we found M&G (they were recommended to us by Aging Advisors, a local firm that specializes in placing elderly people in long-term care and helping their family members restore their safety and sense of personal dignity while living out their last years), we were at our wit's end! It was all so complicated! We knew that our cousin could qualify for Medicaid, but getting her on Medicaid was just one task of MANY tasks that we needed to help her with. We needed someone else to stay focused on the Medicaid application process while we focused on our cousin and her personal and health needs, her paperwork, her apartment cleanout, and so much more.
